Plenty Oil

Sometime between 2005 and 2007 one of my lecturers said to the class: "Guyana has oil but we will not find it until God is ready for it to be found." Since my lecturer made that statement, I believed it. It is mind blowing that so much oil has been found since the first discovery. What's even more amazing is that more oil can be found.

Guyana has always been a wealthy nation. Unfortunately, only some persons have experienced this wealth. It is my prayer that with the advent of this additional wealth, all of Guyana will experience it and use it for the development of Guyana.

My children displaying the volcanoes they made

Last Saturday, August 3, 2019 my children along with many other children had lots of fun while learning. Some children participated in learning to make volcanoes then make it erupt while others participated in making picture frames.

Bring out your children to join the fun while learning as Muneshwers Limited continue these craft classes at 11am on Saturday, August 17, 2019, and Saturday, August 24, 2019. I heard mention of intensions to have a craft class on the Solar System, but you have to be there to find out.

Visit from the Doctors (From Guyana to Jamaica and back)

Dr. Sharon Earle-Edwards, me, and Dr. Benita Alfred

Earlier this year when these Doctors visited Guyana, they did not want to return to Jamaica without visiting me. I must admit that I felt quite honoured about this fact. Dr. Edwards is a Jamaican whom is a Medical Doctor and author of the book "PILLS for the Happy Soul." PILLS is her acronym for "Prescription Inspiration Life Lessons for Success." I have my autographed copy and I encourage you to get your copy of her book. See below for ways in which you can get this book.

Dr. Alfred is a Guyanese and medical doctor who has been serving in Jamaica for more than twenty two (22) years. I wanted to write about the amazing contribution of this woman for years but she prefers to remain in the background. I esteem her very highly and I acknowledge her efforts towards the well being of others. She is among the many Guyanese Doctors in Jamaica and among the thousands of Guyanese around the world who are making tremendous contributions to the nations in which they reside yet they are very humble.

Me and Rev. Dr. Karen Mc Sweeney

Dr. Mc Sweeney is another Guyanese who visited me as recent as this month. She holds two (2) doctorates. In addition to being a medical doctor, she is also a Methodist Minister who has been lecturing at the United Theological College of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica for several years. This is a Minister whom ever person of every denomination calls upon. She is there for everyone and her humility is inspiring. It was really a privilege for me, my wife, and children to be graced with her presence again.

I pray that God continue to richly bless these doctors as they continue to serve faithfully in Jamaica.

Guyana Nice!

The other day I saw one of my church sisters who now resides overseas. She was visiting Guyana for a few days for her organization. She said to me, "Y'all don't know how good y'all got it in Guyana."

What she meant was the fact that the freedom we have in Guyana is not found elsewhere. Also implied in that statement is the fact that "There is no place like home."

While we have an appreciation for what God has given to us, we tend to have a deeper appreciation for the things that we no longer have. This reality may have birthed the statement "You don't miss the water until the well runs dry."

Consequently, many Guyanese who now resides overseas have a much deeper appreciation for Homeland Guyana. The truth is: Guyana nice! Infact, Guyana nice bad (if you are a Guyanese or have resided in Guyana long enough, you would understand what that means).

Guyana was once one of the world's best kept secrets, but now the secret is out. This once largely undiscovered aspect of South America is now becoming a centre of attraction for the world. People in Guyana and around the world are discovering more and more how Guyana nice.

The places and scenery are nice:

The people and food are  nice:

The various cultures are nice:

In the comments section below, share what you think makes Guyana a nice place. Thanks in advance.

Happy 53rd Independence to all Guyanese.

Guyana - A Wonderful Place

Today is the 4th day in the year 2019. Since the beginning of the year, I have heard several persons in different places and at different times say that "...Guyana is a lovely place." One of those persons was speaking to me, my wife, and children the other night about how wonderful Guyana is. He said "... I have been to nineteen different countries but there is no country like Guyana." Indeed, this is a wonderful country.

In this year and for all the years to come, let us work together for the development of Guyana. Together we can make Guyana even better.
