The Guyanese in the Guinness World Records (The 2018 Pioneers Series)

Sir. Lionel Alfred Luckhoo was entered into the Guinness World Records in 1990 as the “most successful lawyer.” He was successful in obtaining 245 successive acquittals for persons that were charged with murder between 1940 and 1985.

While there is much I can say, I draw your attention to what has already been written or entered into record about this great Guyanese (see the links below).

Like Sir Luckhoo, in the past and the present, there are many Guyanese all over the world that have done and are doing amazing things, yet they are very humble. I salute all of you.

The man who has been to Guyana 27 times

Dr. Ray Rist and I on his 27th trip to Guyana
at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre
Liliendaal, Georgetown, Guyana
Friday, November 30, 2018

For over a decade Dr. Ray Rist has been traveling to Guyana to facilitate capacity building in the area of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for the Government of Guyana through the Ministry of Finance (MoF). Despite of open heart surgery in recent months, he made his 27th trip to Guyana. It is evident that he loves what he does and he loves Guyana.
He is familiar with Guyanese food and Guyanese hospitality and he makes reference to both. He has already made considerations for his next trip to the place he fondly refers to as "Georgetown, Guyana," and indicated that he is pursing becoming an honourary Guyanese.

Dr. Rist, an American author of several books including "The Invisible Children: School Integration in American Society" and "The Road to Results: Designing and Conducting Effective Development Evaluations," is one of the creators and Co-Director of the International Programme for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET). He served for more than a decade in the United States Government including the time of President Clinton, to whom he reported, and he served in the Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank.

Myself and the thirty (30) plus persons who participated in the graduate level course training by Dr. Rist, which requires 70% to pass, are grateful to him for an enlightening workshop. We have been provided with tools that can help us to contribute towards positive outcomes and impacts for this beautiful land called Guyana.

The Giftland Mall: Guyana’s Premiere Shopping and Entertainment Destination (The 2018 Pioneers Series – 3rd Feature)

If I ask my wife, and especially my children, “Where do you want to go?” They always say “Giftland Mall.” It is their favourite place to go and many persons share the same sentiments. Whether it’s the food, the movies, or the variety of shopping options, the atmosphere is one that encourages people to visit regularly and frequently.

For many years Guyanese were longing for a place to take their family, lime (hang out), be entertained, shop from a variety of options, and have fun at one location. The Giftland Mall is the destination that made this dream a reality. There is no other place in Guyana that provides all the options you have at the Giftland Mall.

Moreover, parking is not an issue. Transportation to and from the mall is not an issue. Security is not an issue. Finding all that you need is not an issue. You are guaranteed to find all that you need and be satisfied on every visit to the Giftland Mall.

Below is a table of the Vendors according to their categories:
