A picture of the cover page of the
liturgy (order of service) for a church service I did on Human
Trafficking/Trafficking in Persons (TIP) in Kingston, Jamaica (refer to the
Sunday, 7 February, 2016 article on this blog)
The topic of combating Human Trafficking
or Trafficking in Persons is one that is dear to my heart. I gave much
attention to this topic while pursuing a Masters degree in Jamaica. I have
preached (in Jamaica), conducted bible studies at more than 6 churches (in
Jamaica), facilitated presentations (in Guyana), wrote an article (for this
blog), and wrote a thesis (in partial fulfillment of the requirements for my
Masters Degree) on this topic. I am very happy that Guyana has finally been
given a tier 1 status. Everyone who played a part in this nation reaching this
status, including TIP Hero Minister Simona Broomes, Minister Amna Ally, Tanisha
Williams, Oliver Profitt, and everyone in the Ministry of Social Protection
should be applauded.
However, now is not the time to relax because the fight continues. Everyone in Guyana and around the world must get involved in combating this modern day slavery.
